Splitting more than one polygon simultaneously?

I would like to split a number of polygons at the same time to get a precise cut for all 2.5 D polygons, which lay above each other. Is there a way to do that?

You can select several polygons using the select tool, dragging (box selecting) or clicking on each polygon with the control key pressed (or command key if you are a Mac user).
Then you can use the split polygon tool on the selection.
Please let me know if I have misunderstood your question.
