ISOS Card

Opened this issue · 0 comments

All Corporate Service Corps participants are required to visit the ISOS site, print a SOS membership card and read the health and safety doc provided prior to departure. You need to carry this card at all times during your overseas assignment. This training module covers topics related to medical preparation and immunizations and IBM's membership with International SOS a 24X7 service for all IBM employees during international travel. When you log onto the SOS site you need to provide IBM's membership number, which is 11BCPA000200.

In the event there are issues with the links above (which CSC does not own or control) check out the travel tips posted in the CSC Participant's Community or the ISOS website.

International SOS is your first point of contact while on assignment should you have any medical problems. The NGO Implementation Partner (PYXERA Global, ABV, DOT & VSO) will program the SOS Alarm center telephone number in the local cell phone you receive.

Please note that SOS is a travel assistance program and not a medical insurance carrier. THE CARD IS A REMINDER OF THE CALL CENTER NUMBERS AND THE MEMBERSHIP NUMBER, IT IS NOT A MEDICAL INSURANCE CARD. If you seek medical treatment while on assignment, when possible, contact SOS alarm centers prior to seeking care. In some instances, they can arrange guarantee of payment but in many countries, you may have to pay cash up front and be reimbursed later either from your personal medical insurance carrier or CSC. In many emerging markets, cash is required before treatment. Please note: Participants should check with their home medical insurance carrier to understand their overseas coverage. You will NOT be covered by the AMEX Travel Insurance since your travel will be booked through the NGO implementation partner.

Your Facilitator can also review with you a Presentation on "How to Use Your SOS Membership"
IBM also publishes a range of information relating to travel health on w3.

Please print the documents below for further direction and Q&A on how and when to use International SOS.
