I think the release notes for 2.0.0 should make it more clear what exactly happened. Because swift-metrics is an API package, issuing a new major could easily lead to an ecosystem split which we should really avoid so it's important everybody understands. I filed the following issues with known dependents:
- vapor/postgres-nio#87
- amzn/smoke-aws#44
- amzn/smoke-framework#42
- amzn/smoke-http#50
- https://gitlab.com/Mordil/swift-redi-stack/issues/70
- apple/swift-statsd-client#15
- allegro/swiftbox#10
- swift-server/swift-prometheus#30
- allegro/swiftbox-metrics-statsd#2
- vapor/vapor#2213
- skelpo/SkelpoMetrics#1
- swiftyserver/SwiftyServer#2
- https://github.com/jsloop42/TeaPotServer/issues/1
- MrLotU/SwiftHooks#4
- mengxiangyue/flake#1
- orlandos-nl/MongoKitten#225
- aaronjedwards/tds-nio#6
- t089/MicroHttp#1
