When I used to GM in person tables, I would describe health to the players in the context of basic descriptions. Examples incluses 'uninjured' 'bruised' 'wounded' and 'bloodied' with each representin 75%+, 50%+, 25%+ and less than 25%
It helped eliminate the meta gaming of the players seeing an ultra thin health bar when we now play digitally.
An ideal solution would allow the gm to specify the number of segments (similar to the approximations option in Bar Brawl
) and when a token falls between 2 division (eg between 67 and 100 on 3 divisions or between 25 and 50 on 4 divisions) show the health bar as the higher of those 2 divisions.
