Linux install instructions no longer usable in v2.x

The /tutorials/Linux/Linux.md (which is the only install instruction embedded on arduino.cc - here) says to run an install.sh script that is no longer included with the Arduino IDE download.
Instructions: https://github.com/arduino/docs-content/blob/main/content/software/ide-v1/tutorials/Linux/Linux.md
...and honestly, I can't figure out how to install Arduino IDE v2.x on Ubuntu 22.04 - the best I can do is to download, navigate to, and run the .appimage file, which doesn't allow installing as a normal program launching from the launcher, nor does it replace the old versions of Arduino IDE in the launcher. Downloading the .zip, there is no install.sh, nor any sort of readme to guide installation. So this tutorial is definitely needed.
I'm sorry I can't contribute the correct way to install Arduino IDE v2.x, but the published instructions are written for version 1.6 and no longer apply. Maybe this is more about updating the instructions referenced by the arduino.cc website than it is about the instructions in the repository, but I don't seem to find an install tutorial like this one for v2.x.
Closed as completed because I don't think this is even the right place to bring this issue up. If anyone ever sees this, I would take it only as an indication that outdated install instructions are referenced on docs.arduino.cc.
