Using fixed height and crop from two sides

Hi,
I'd like to use responsiveslides.js in my header and therefore i would like to fix the height of the images to 188px. Then if the page gets smaller the image is cropped from the right side. Is it possible change the pictures origin to it is cropped from both left and right?
