Icon color doesn't change automatically when the underlying condition changes

The color of the extension icon supposedly reflects whether automatic tab suspension is enabled for a tab: Green if enabled, Red if not (whitelisted), Orange if temporarily disabled (e.g. due to form entry, or user selecting "don't automatically suspend this tab"). For me, the color doesn't automatically change when the condition changes, though. For example, if the icon is green and I select "don't automatically suspend this tab", the icon stays green. If I click on the icon to display the extension menu again, then the color updates to orange. Same thing in these cases:

1. Choosing "Enable automatic suspension of this tab"
2. Choosing "Add current page to whitelist"
3. Entering something in a form

The color does seem to update automatically on page loads and when removing a page from the whitelist.
