Suggestion: crafting logs from wood

If the mod generates trees with wood, there seems to be no way to get actual oak and birch logs? A way to get logs from wood would be nice, for example if you want trees to be made out of wood but also to be able to build with logs sometimes.

Alternative suggestion: have trees consist of both wood and logs, having trees only have wood where needed. I suppose that's more difficult to code and worse for inventory management, though :D
