Limit the frequency of data points?

Is there a way to limit the frequency that the plugin gets updated data from the Govee device, and would that reduce the drain on the battery?

I don't know if the Govee device broadcasts the data and the plugin just hears it or if the plugin is requesting the data, causing the Govee unit to transmit.
