Align amp image left and right with different background mains

How can we get this sort of effect with image either placed on right or left of the main content area?
Also, how can I have 3 column or 2 column blurbs like this...
I am really struggling in combining AMP code with normal HTML. Any suggestions - greatly appreciated!
