Touchpad-Indicator cuts in and out

I started using Touchpad-Indicator so that I could disable my touchpad when I'm typing; an option the mouse and touchpad settings on Ubuntu doesn't offer.

And it works... often. but TI seems to cut out regularly. For instance; I use natural scrolling and every once in awhile the direction of scrolling switches direction for a second and then starts working again. Same thing when I'm typing. Suddenly the touchpad isn't being blocked any more and my mouse pointer moves or clicks.

Is there an issue with the built in mouse and trackpad settings competing with TI? Both are set to natural scrolling so I don't see how two finger scrolling would suddenly switch direction (unless one is temporarily reversing the other's reversal).

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS on an Acer.

I can confirm this. Also seems to need reminding (uncheck/recheck) on startup...except even then it doesn't always work. Love the app though. --usually do when I bother to report. 🍡

The settings aren't applied when the touchpad is unplugged and then plugged. I have to click on Preferences > OK.

I'm experiencing the same behaviour.
