How to install on Kubuntu 23.10

Hi,
Is there any way to install this on Kubuntu 23.10? APT install can't find the package.
I built it from source. Only one package is still missing and I can't find out how to install it.
gir1.2-gconf-2.0
Any ideas?
Did you manage to install from sources? I'm trying also in Ubuntu 24.04 Noble with no joy.

Package: gir1.2-gconf-2.0 (3.2.6-5)
Links for gir1.2-gconf-2.0GNOME configuration database system (GObject-Introspection)
GConf is a configuration database system for storing application preferences. It supports default or mandatory settings set by the administrator, and changes to the database are instantly applied to all running applications. It is written for the GNOME desktop but doesn't require it.This package contains introspection data for GConf. It can be used by packages using the GIRepository format to generate dynamic bindings.
This package is for legacy applications and no longer used by GNOME.
I don't think it will work anymore until that dependency is written out and whatever replaced it written in. Since that's what interacts with the actual settings, I can't imagine it's optional. I may take a minute to see if ChatGPT can figure it out for me as I'll have to scrap this install and distro if I can't make it turn the trackpad off when I'm typing.
Ultimately touchpad-indicator needs to be transitioned to gsettings https://docs.gtk.org/gio/migrating-gconf.html. I'm assuming neither of you were successful at compiling gir1.2-gconf2.0 in ubuntu 23 or 24?
