change progress bar colour only for tron skin

Is it possible to change only the progress bar colour gradually as the %increases? I know it can be done with somewhat manipulating the fgColor but for the tron skin suppose I manipulate the fgColor, it even changes the colour of the thin outer ring. How can I prevent that and change the progress colour of the bar only?
