I'm not sure when this broke but it looks like your issue reports page is getting smashed https://github.com/aussieaddons/issue-reports/issues

@brentonv Thanks for the bump
Yes 100+ issues and counting! Our addon is using a long deprecated mobile API so it may not be fixable in its current state :(
There's been plenty of intermittent issues like this previously that have corrected within several hours however we might have to look at building a new one from scratch ASAP!

disappointing resolution. was there really no alternative than to capitulate to sbs forced signup?

If it makes it possible to comply with the current API, I don't see an issue with creating a free account on a free service.

Thanks for the update @glennguy

@brentonv you're welcome! Still more work to do but we'll get there soon.

@jeacott no there was not. Some services like 9now only have client side enforcement of signing in, the new sbs API has server side - no way around.

@glennguy have you considered using a generic login with the option to use your own account in settings? Or even randomise 5-10 generic logins to mitigate excess account usage. Or would this just likely attract unwanted attention to the project?

In saying that, if you used the sign-in method on the "banned" 7 and 10 add-ons wouldn't it therefore be compliant with any legal requirements?

There is always room for content providers to require the use of an approved method of access. I think you will find that the client-based ad insertion means that any client which does not insert ads will fall foul of the content providers' requirements.

What is gained by having all users share a single (or pooled) credential? All it takes is for SBS to reset the password for the account (if they don't block it all together) and the bug reports will start flooding in.

Ah yes the ads. I forgot about the ads.

So yes then ๐Ÿ˜‰

I agree with @mpember - as nice at it would be to streamline the user experience I think it's best to not attract attention if possible. They would probably see if a handful of accounts were hammering the service.

Just ideas. I don't mind the login. Thanks again @glennguy

Thanks @glennguy ,
on another topic, the new plugin still seems broken. Perhaps only pulling the first 10 entries?
check for example https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/the-last-man-on-earth.
sbs has every ep for every season available, but for me at least this plugin is showing a fairly random selection of a total of 10 episodes across all 4 seasons.

All good @brentonv

@jeacott you're right - I've got a fix for that in the pipeline and if I'm lucky enough to get some spare time this evening it'll be fixed at least in the dev repo

if there's scope to add a separate sorted All programs list somewhere sometime that would also be helpful. The sbs categorisation scheme is a bit of a disaster for finding anything.

Not sure about that but you can get a-z under genres - again that's currently afflicted by the 10 item limit issue.
I'll have a dig anyway and see if it can be done somehow.

@glennguy my mother in-law asked for help with her seven and ten app store apps. Both went offline for her at the same time. Seems like if they weren't already before they are both now also enforcing logons (both using https://secure-gl.imrworldwide.com). Not relevant here just figured I'd mention it ๐Ÿ˜ข

Due to the threat of legal action, support for Ten got dropped two years ago.

But I can confirm that no change has been made to the 10 Play API that would break an addon that was working last month.

interesting, but 7 and 10 are both still available via the freeview app sans login, make of that what you will.

It all depends on whether it is enforced client side or server side. 9now app wants a login but the API doesn't require it
