Was the first place I looked too upon this announcement so I could install it on my google-free tablet. If you're open sourcing an android app, this is a need-have

It depends on the Google Services Framework, which is proprietary, so unless that can be removed without making the app nonfunctional, it cannot be published on F-Droid, which only accepts fully free code.
