Configure interval that touchpad/pointer is disabled

I'm afraid that answer will be negative, but prefer asking in case I'm wrong.
I see that cursor dissapears while typing, and that trackpad takes some time to be responsive after stop typing. I can probably live with the first but the time of approximately one second I need to wait to be able to move the pointer again is not so much comfortable. Is that interval configurable in some manner? And being extremely optimistic, also change something to keep the pointer visible while typing?
