Gumi dropdown avoid overflow: hidden

It would be nice if gumi didn't break when parent elements have 'overflow: hidden' set on them. One option is to deal with position fixed, the other alternative is to have a dummy 'dropdown' wrapper inside the body node and dynamically create/update the options on the click action.
