Kdeconnect not autodetecting the device

to reproduce -
run indicator-kdeconnect on linux ( arch )
turn on android hotspot
connect to android hotspot on linux
run kdeconnect on android device
Both device are not recognising each other unless I manually disconnect and connect to mobile hotspot again
