Widget only works when in foreground

When it was working, I had a widget from www.gamepadviewer.com, and the custom url worked fine, the widget showed my inputs. However, it only worked when that controller input widget was in the foreground. As soon as it was in the background, it stopped registering any inputs. I tested on the website itself, and it still works when the browser is in the BG, and it also works correctly in OBS.
