I cant see the chat

Hey, so i've been having a problem with the transparent twitch chat where the program launches but nothing pops up and it is blank i've tried deleting and redownloading but nothing helps and I did but the username right, it doesnt even send me the message connecting to chat like it used to , and when people are messaging in chat i dont get their messages on the transparent twitch chat overlay.
