If the page has a "<" char, the translation stops

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. If the page has "<" char, it stop translate. When I remove the char, it
worked properly.
2. I sent the page address to your email.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
jquery.translate-1.4.7.min.js
jquery-1.4.2.min.js
