Double-clicking branch icon in "Changes" view won't close modal and locks app

When double-clicking on the branch icon within the "Changes" section, the branch modal will not close and the application every button in the application is disabled. This only seems to happen if performed as the first action on a repo.

Steps performed

  • click on "Repositories" (or open application)
  • choose a repository
  • go directly to the "Changes" view
  • double-click on the icon to the right of the text "Committing to [branch name]"
  • the modal pops up and will not close...everything behind it is disabled

How to fix

  • restart the application
