Bad state after create, leave, return, start anyway

Open the game with 2 different users.
Create a board with 2 open slots.
Join the game from the other user (the one who did not do the creating).
Have the creating user leave, then return to the game in a different slot.
Once they return, there will still be one sot open.
Click "start anyway".
The game does not start, and it seems to be in a bad state. No errors.
