Why doesn't sxhkd catch keybindings as set by xmodmap?

I've switched Escape and Caps Lock thanks to xmodmap. It seems sxhkd isn't affected by that change.

Does sxhkd -m -1 help?

sxhkd -m 1 you meant? Yes it seems to. What's happening here? The man isn't very clear/easy to understand.

No, I really meant -1, a negative count parameter is equivalent to infinity, but if -m 1 works, you should use that instead.

Keyboard layout modifications are transmitted via mapping notify events, unfortunately, it appears that most of those events are completely useless and sometimes generated just by pressing a particular key on the keyboard.

However, it seems that the first mapping notify event that sxhkd receives is useful.

Ok thanks. Maybe you could add a paragraph in the man, to explain the point/importance of -m?

Done.
