Use the original highlighting when hovering list elements

Currently when we highlight bounding boxes on hovering over the corresponding list element, we actually change the face color of the bounding box. While this kind of works, it would be much better to use the highlighting functionality of the bounding box. It would be consistent (it doesn't matter whether you hover on the actual bounding boxes or the corresponding list object, you see the same), and also would be less prone to errors (what happens if for some reason we don't restore the original face color? It happened, though I cannot reproduce it).
