improve x-axis breaks/labels

x-axis breaks and labels - can we improve?
burrlioz just has 1, 10, 100, 1000 etc.
"Divisions in x axis are too big. A label of 3160 seems unusual
and difficult to interpolate by eye. Why not 10, 100, 1000,
10,000 like Burrlioz?"
