Maybe I'm a dummy but I could not get this working on 1.8. It was placed after widget_manager, and I tried disabling custom_index. For me logged in users always get forwarded to "/activity" at the site URL. I don't see how this would work without handling the [index, system] hook.

Any ideas?

It relies on widget_manager to overwrite the index - as this plugin just extends/overrides widget manager's functionality. Sorry, I guess I should have provided more concise instructions.

I guess I could also explicitly set that setting within this plugin on activation, though it could always be toggled on/off again via widget manager.
