Problems solved automatically by newer kernel version.
(On Fedora 31)

Unfortunately the issue still persists on Ubuntu 19.10.

When a newer version of kernel module hid_multitouch is installed, the problem is gone. I provide a dynamic kernel module which has been copied over from https://github.com/torvalds/linux/tree/master/drivers/hid
