.meteor directory is missing in git. Therefore, it's not possible to run the app out of the box.

Yeah - this project is probably a bit of an evolutionary dead end. I'm working on the status board at https://github.com/SheffieldUni/status-board now.
It's still very much a work in progress. I've made a lot of changes and I'm probably going to redesign it to work with mk_livestatus soon.
