OutOfMemoryError while reading downloaded comic

I would like to re-open this #39 as I have exactly the same issues.
I usually have to exit the comic and re-open it as swiping rarely works.
I'm using the latest version.

Is this a downloaded local file or remote pull?

It is a file downloaded locally via the app. Streaming works fine. Does it answer your question ?

When you remote stream the image is downsized to a smaller resolution which is more manageable and memory friendly.

When you download locally, the app extracts it and does not apply any downsizing. This looks crisper but is less memory friendly.

I will add an option to force downsizing to a max resolution you can set yourself. This way you can choose what has the best quality and doesn't take up too much memory.

Thanks ! that would explain why. Yeap my tablet is a pretty cheap one. only 1GB of ram...

You can find the new setting Force Downsizing in the Settings tab, under Reader section. The feature is complete in version 1.1.7. After changing this setting, old images may not be changed because they are in cache so you will have to clear it manually, but newly created images will be fine.

Ok, I moved that setting to Settings -> Advanced -> Force Downsizing
