Version on Pop!_Shop is Behind (and a performance-issue)

I just decided to see if there was a GitHub-page for GOverlay and whether there would be a newer version, and sure enough there is. - I found GOverlay through the Pop!_Shop some months ago, then using MangoHud in particular through that, but I never saw any updates since, which was a bit suspicious to me, especially since there is a significant problem (which I don't know if it has been resolved, but I'll get back to that).

What's more is that you can still find GOverlay on Pop!_Shop, but it also doesn't say that it's outdated, which often will be indicated. - But then, I read something about a loss of a previous account and 0.8-something being a re-release or something, that might have to do with it...

Anyway, what do I do now? - Do I uninstall the Pop! or Flatpak-version somehow and then use a different method? - It would be nice if I could just be notified and updated through the Pop!_Shop, but if that's not in the cards, then that's that I suppose.

As for the performance-issue, this one's rather baffling:

Luckily I had never minimized MangoHud, but if you do (with version 0.7.1 at least), the CPU-usage goes up to sit around 9% on the goverlay-process. It's really weird, but it's instantaneous. - It also happens when you go to another plug-in, so vkBasalt or ReplaySorcery. But it doesn't happen when it's in the background without being minimized, as well as still on the MangoHud-tab. - My best guess is that it might have to do with the preview-window or something like that.
In turn, this might be an issue with MangoHud, but of course GOverlay is the "wrapper" or "runner" or whatever for it.

Again, I don't know if this was a known issue and resolved by now, but just thought I'd mention it since that's the version I'm on now. - Obviously I'm behind because of this as well. Same for MangoHud, actually, so because of using MangoHud on Pop!_Shop I'm on old versions for both.

Hey @MicHaeL-MonStaR , indeed every debian/ubuntu based distro is relying on mangohud and goverlay versions of debian repositories. Actually that's my main issue with debian/ubuntu based distros, their update cicle is very slow. You can download the precompiled build and try to execute it on your system, you only need an update qt5pas package (don't know what version is avaiable on Pop, but it works on the latest Mint). If that doesn't work you might have to compile it in your system, every step is described in the main page.

That is for certain the goverlay preview running in the background. You can safely close goverlay after saving your config.

If you have any other issues i'm glad to help.
