In the man page of crypt(3) the struct crypt_data has an field "phrase": https://github.com/besser82/libxcrypt/blob/develop/doc/crypt.3#L93
This field doesn't exist. I guess you use "input" instead: https://github.com/besser82/libxcrypt/blob/develop/lib/crypt.h.in#L89
