Base64 Style Gcode Thumbnails don't work

Opened this issue · 0 comments

The TouchScreenFirmware page says PrusaSlicer-style/Base64 encoded Gcode thumbnails should work on the TFT70, but I can only get it to work with the BTT 3D Plug-In Suit style image encoding. But even then I can barely get it to work with Cura 5.8 as it causes crashes upon trying to save the file most of the time.
The Base64 implementation would be much better since it's the default method all the main slicers, and there's already PostProccessing plugins for it in Cura. It also doesn't take up nearly as much space in the start of the Gcode.

Posting this here specifically because the BX's TFT70-V2.2 seems to be different from the standard TFT70 and not able to be updated via the main TouchScreenFirmware repo.

EDIT: I've done some more testing and BTT Plug-In seems to work most of the time if I save the file normally to disk/flash before then saving it a second time as BigTree3D Format but with a different file name (overwriting causes same crash).. I would still prefer the Base64 style Gcode images, as it's 100% functional and easier to use/share across other printers.
