Option to clear selected date from UI

is there any option to clear selected date from ui in current version (3.1.1)? @jkuri says that it is resolved with #315. Moreover, it will be great to have a today's date button in the ui when we change the month/year from calendar, that button will help us to show the today's date.

Can we have a button besides the date input field to clear value -
capture . It would be very helpful.
