Clear previous search when triggering extension

Hi, just came across this plugin and have to say it's something I've been looking for for years... thanks for making it 👍 .

Wanted to ask if there's a way to clear the previous search term when triggering the dialog?

Usually, i'll trigger the extension using the keyboard shortcut, filter down to the tab I'm looking for and then hit enter to switch to it. Would be great if the next time I triggered the extension it didn’t retain the previous search term.

Btw, is there a keyboard shortcut to pin or close the selected tab or can that only be done using the mouse?

Thanks again for such an awesome plugin!

@sinewave Glad to know you find UnTab useful 🙂

  1. The reason why previous search term is persisted is for situations when a user chooses an option by mistake, they don't have to type the entire search term again and can continue to select another option by just opening UnTab. This is also the behaviour of Spotlight in macOS. If you want to clear the previous search term, you can simply click on Delete when you open UnTab. This will clear the search term as it is auto-selected while opening UnTab.

  2. Not at the moment. You have to use mouse, or switch to the tab and then use native browser shortcuts for pinning and closing the tab.

Thanks for the quick response and I can see how that makes sense!

Personally, I very rarely find myself needing to modify a previous search.

As you mentioned i only have to hit delete to reset the search but if I’m triggering this hotkey 100+ times a day that’s 100 times I have to do this. There’s also the slight matter of having to wait for the results to reset which slows down finding the tab I’m after.

In any case thanks for creating this extension, it’s become indispensable to my daily workflow, and I’d be very thankful for an option to change this behavior in the future, if you were ever inclined 😄.

@sinewave Sure, we can add this as an option in a settings page(yet to be built) where it will be OFF by default.
