Maintainer discussion

Hi, I wanted to talk about the current lack of a maintainer. I don't have the expertise or the in-depth knowledge to maintain this project, but I would love to step up in some capacity. Are there any thoughts for any other position that would be helpful?
On the topic of getting a new maintainer, what are the long-term goals for the project? Is it just getting v1 shipped?
Thanks!
Hi @fladrif, I believe @benbot is interested in becoming a maintainer. I've granted him access.
The project can probably also benefit from a sort of community manager role (someone that is available in the chat room and can also help triage issues here on GitHub). If that's something that you're interested in, do let us know.
Yea that sounds like something I could help out in. Unfortunately I won't be able to do so in the next couple months, but I'll reach back out at the beginning of the next year to see if it's still a position I can help fill. Thanks!
@nicolodavis hey I'm ready to start helping out. Are there any directions in particular you think will be more useful?
Hi @fladrif, I think having someone manage the chat group would be helpful. It used to be on Gitter, but it looks like Gitter has moved to Matrix.
Sure that sounds good. Is there a way to manage messages? (delete spam) Also I noticed that there isn't an integration in the boardgame.io site anymore, is that due to the migration?
TIL there's was chat 😅
@fladrif if you get it up please drop a link here, so i can join
Haha I'm not too sure if I understand it all correctly. I know of the gitter channel that used to be integrated with the site, but I'm not sure what the implication of it having moved to Matrix is. @nicolodavis
Also, do we want to continue supporting gitter? Github also as a discussions page that sees use and seems analogous.
