In the RSS feed with Boost releases, most of the content is formatted bold:

Compare with the RSS feed from the current website:

Hi @Lastique! Can you provide me both urls in regards to the screenshot?

The screenshots are from Thunderbird showing RSS news entry for Boost 1.84 - as generated by the new and the old website.

So, these are email client screenshots - gotcha. I'd need to compare the old/new feeds (if there are two) and debug the markup it's generating. How can I replicate this? Is there only the https://www.boost.io/feed/downloads.rss feed?

@sdarwin or @kennethreitz Do you have any insight on the way we do RSS for both sites? Thanks

The old website has at least these RSS feeds:

https://www.boost.org/feed/downloads.rss
https://www.boost.org/feed/news.rss

The new website has the same, with s/www.boost.org/www.boost.io/. I'm not sure if there are others.

The content, although escaped, can be seen in the .rss files. But to properly reproduce you need to install an RSS reader such as Thunderbird and add feeds from both websites.

I was able to reproduce this in Thunderbird (Mac), but not sure why it is breaking yet. I'm not too familiar with RSS feeds.

@joaquintides I'd like to get with @kennethreitz when he's back to see what the new website is doing to the the text.

Discussed with Kenneth; reassigning to him

Changing this to P4. This shouldn't be blocking our launch whatsoever. Let's see how many RSS subscribers we have before we invest too much time on this. It's heavily nuanced.
