The Overlay is not applied to some non-steam games

I've added a few non-steam games and with most of the steamgrid works great. But some games I've added recently have not had the updated cover applied to them. This problem in particular comes up with the indie-game "Starsector" and the Epic-version of "What remains of Edith Finch".
I've checked the created cover-files and found some peculiar behaviour:
While my custom cover is kept, steamgrid downloads covers and applies overlays to images with a different game-id.
So somehow the game-id steamgrid uses is not the same that steam uses. If I rename the files created by steamgrid to the id of my custom cover the picture in steam changes.
This would fix my problem if steamgrid wouldn't download a different cover from the one I wanted, so the created image is sadly wrong.
