Boxee failing to load from SMB.

I have 2 boxee's now both running BoxeeHacks. When first installing the software one of the devices failed to read a SMB share within a few days of install, it had the correct username and password in the network settings, and I could browse the network, find the server, and the share, but NOT look in the share or load a file. The only solution at the time was the reset the unit, and reload everything, nothing I tried fixed it. Both unit then worked for a week or two longer, and then the same issue arose again, now I have 2 dead boxee's that can not load media from SMB windows shares, even though they can see them when browsing. I have tried removing and resetting the username/passwords etc. The account they are using is read only, and does not have write access to the shares.
What is going on?
I have the same problem with my Boxee .. even with Boxee standard firmware.
I've been digging through almost every ressource i can find to find an answer.
Some things i'm pretty sure is correct
- BOXEE doesn't work well with SMBv2 clients (Vista, 7, 8, 2008) - Disabling SMB2 seems to help
- BOXEE doesn't work well with Domain networks - reverting into a workgroup seems to help
- Network Shares and Secuity has to allow "EVERYONE" and whatever profile you use from boxee.
- Enabling GUEST access on some Windows systems also help.
