Execution permission for executables on Unix-like OSes

Opened this issue · 0 comments

Hi, team.

Thank you very much for your excellent package. I know that this is not commonly supported, but is it possible to preserve execution permission bit when adding files/subdirectories on Unix-like OSes (Linux, macOS)?

Use case: if an application package is distributed as an archive file (like a zip) containing executables, icons, examples, etc, then it would be nice if the executables could be run after unzipping without an extra tweak.

This is, obviously, not an issue for Windows where the execution permission concept is not used at all.
