Even if an image is resized the overall image size can be in 15-20 MB range if the original dpi i.e horizontal and vertical resolution is left alone i.e. 300 dpi. It will be worthwhile to have an option to reset the resized image dpi to more like 72 dpi especially for web usage.

Yep, DPI is not related to web. Closing the issue.
