Question about authentication

I'm just wondering if authentication means that both the uploader and the downloader need to be authenticated users?

Also, how about adding authentication against an IMAP server, would that be possible? That way one could use BoZoN easily with a defined user base.

Only the uploader needs an account, the downloader uses the share link.

IMAP could be a great feature but I don't know it at all: I need to learn about it before ;-)
