General information

  • Operating system + version: ubuntu 18.10
  • Browser + version: Firefox 66.0b2
  • Information about the host app:
    • How did you install it? Downloaded a pre-built binary
    • If installed an official release, put a version: 2.0.22
  • Information about the browser extension:
    • How did you install it? downloaded a pre-built extension
    • Browserpass extension version as reported by your browser: 2.0.22

Exact steps to reproduce the problem

  1. go to accounts.firefox.com/signin
  2. ctrl+shit+l to open the browserpass popup, search and select the desired pass item

What should happen?

  • username/password form fields should be filled automatically
  • The OTP popup should appear

What happened instead?

  • username/password form fields are not filled automatically
  • The OTP popup did not appear either

Additinal info:

  • the password item is correctly unpacked, just not copied into the page
  • on Chromium 71.0.3578.98 everything works

Answering my own question (suddently came up to my mind).

For security reasons, by default Firefox does not allow extension to work in their domains.

I believe (not tested) that this can be overriden by hacking the about:config prefs.
