Cobbler bootstrapping server
Developed and tested on Ubuntu.
Red Hat/CentOS and Fedora can be used but will be converted to a Debian/Ubuntu style Apache as it’s far easier to manage with chef.
There are three settings right now, set in recipes/default.rb:
server -> hostname of the cobbler server, defaults to the fqdn virt -> virt type, kvm, untested bridge -> default virt bridge interface, br0, untested
Import Fedora by downloading the dvd, mounting it locally, e.g.
sudo mkdir /tmp/F13 sudo mount -o loop Fedora-13-x86_64-DVD.iso /tmp/F13 sudo cobbler import –path=/srv/repo/F13 –name F13 sudo cobbler system add–name=pxe.example.org –mac=52:54:00:AA:BB:CC –profile=F13-x86_64
Configure your DHCP server to use your cobbler server as ‘next-server’ with a filename of ‘/pxelinux.0’
