Device Manager doesn't show "orange" anymore if items are highlighted blue

Is this a design feature or bug? If something is not monitored, it doesn't show up as orange if the batteries die or if it stops checking in. Is this how it is supposed to be?

This is a feature. You have to make the device "in production" before it will show up "orange" due to it not checking in or the batteries are dead.
