In my opinion 0.6 can become unsupported. Reasoning:

  1. 0.6 is outdated
  2. node-kafka deals with 0.6 just fine for those who really need it
  3. it will slowdown development for recent kafka versions
  4. Prozess is new; therefore people who are using it are able to choose recent Kafka versions
