Fix .gitignore template copying when creating new app

When creating a new app the .gitignore file didn't seem to get copied over correctly. The file itself was there, but was empty? Maybe cp ignored it?

In my case I didn't even get an empty .gitignore, lucky you!

I tried something that seems to work in PR #6 , but I also have no clue what I'm doing so I entrust it to you
