When launching a container, the error in the title occurs.
$ lxc launch ubuntu:24.04 noble
Creating noble
Starting noble
Error: mkdir /var/snap/lxd/common/lxd/shmounts: file exists
Try `lxc info --show-log local:noble` for more info
Steps to reproduce
- Launch a new container
Information to attach
- Any relevant kernel output (
dmesg) - Container log (
lxc info NAME --show-log) - Container configuration (
lxc config show NAME --expanded) - Main daemon log (at /var/log/lxd/lxd.log or /var/snap/lxd/common/lxd/logs/lxd.log)
- Output of the client with --debug
- Output of the daemon with --debug (alternatively output of
lxc monitorwhile reproducing the issue)

Never mind - this was resolved by restarting lxd. It probably has to do with the fact that I'd just enabled snap parallel instances.
