I wonder if when converting this charm from podspec to sidecar we've missed something with the user roles. this readme describes how roles are handled in Kubeflow and Charmed Kubeflow. That charm was set up as a way for us to apply any RBAC we couldn't apply through other charms.

I can't think of why converting from podspec to sidecar would have actually caused this problem though, so I might be incorrect with this guess.
