###git clone https://github.com/carolineartz/phase0-gps-1.git cloning the remote (github) repo to our local copy

###cd phase0-gps-1 moving from outer directory to the cloned repo directory

###touch awesome_page.md creating a new file at our location

###git add awesome_page.md adding the file to staging (preparing it to be commited)

###git commit -m "Adds awesome_page markdown file" comming our staged files

###git status checking our status to make sure things are as we expect

###git push origin master push the repo with our changes to our remote origin

###git checkout -b add-command-log creates (-b) and moves to (checkout) a new feature branch

###ls lists all the files in our current directory
